The Baroudeur is a fun, noncompetitive cycling event, so we strongly encourage you to select a distance you can comfortably finish in time to arrive back on campus to enjoy lunch, entertainment and drinks. When choosing between the 20-, 37-, 62- or 100-mile ride, please be realistic about how long it will take you to finish the ride, which requires stopping at all red lights and stop signs. You should plan on completing the ride no later than 1:30 p.m. Ride support will end at 2 p.m.
Please keep this in mind when selecting your Baroudeur ride distance: 100-mile route –
By August 12, you should be comfortably riding at least 120 miles per week, including weekday rides of 40 miles and one weekend ride of 50-60 miles. 62-mile route –
By August 12, you should be comfortably riding 75-100 miles per week.
Please note: You do not have to ride the distance you registered for if you feel you are not prepared the day of the ride. You may change your distance at any time by emailing Katie McMillan
How far do we have to ride at once?
There will be approximately one rest stop every 20 miles along the routes. There will be food, drink and restrooms available at each stop.
