The Baroudeur offers three routes to accommodate riders of all experience levels. Ranging from 20 miles all the way up to the urban century ride of 100 miles, the Baroudeur will take you past some of Detroit and Southeast Michigan's most iconic sights and landmarks.
Safety is our top priority. Please remember that the Baroudeur is an open road course, so cyclists will be riding with vehicular traffic and must obey traffic laws. All cyclists are required to wear a helmet. To help ensure your safety on ride day, there will be course marshals, directional signage, police patrols and sweepers on each route.
Important Route Change Information
Unfortunately, just this afternoon we were made aware that Larned Street in downtown Detroit will be closed on Saturday, and that we cannot get through downtown. As a result, we must alter our course. We apologize for the last-minute change.
Instead of riding Cass Avenue all the way to downtown, this year, all courses will turn:
- Left on Warren Avenue
- Right on Dequindre Street (quick jog)
- Left on Forest Avenue
- Right on St. Aubin Street
- Left on Lafayette Street
Once riders are on Lafayette Street, the originally planned courses will resume. All courses will be .4 miles less than the mileage listed on the turn-by-turn directions.
